Phase 1 Progress

It’s been awhile since my last post, but in that time I’ve made quite a bit of progress. I mentioned that the Andii project was split into two phases, and that Phase 1 included simple locomotion, remote control, and telemetry. I’ve accomplished two of these goals — simple locomotion and remote control. The locomotion, basic left/right steering forward and reverse, is done through the BrainStem.NET library described in the previous posts. The BrainStem is connected to a single steering servo and the Novak ESC that came with the Traxxas E-Maxx. I’m using the remaining 2 BrainStem servo ports for a camera pan/tilt assembly.

The remote control is done using .NET Remoting and Managed DirectX. I’m going to save the details on that software for later, and simply show some screenshots for now.
